Sending Money to Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Georgia in 2026: What Works

Sending Money to Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Georgia in 2026: What Works

In summer 2026, sending money to neighbouring countries became noticeably harder: Zolotaya Korona stopped transfers to Georgia and Kazakhstan, and bank transfers work only with some banks and lose on the rate. A transfer via USDT still works if the recipient has a wallet and a legal way to exchange the coins locally.

Below is what changed for each country and how to send money via Ruber.

What changed in summer 2026

  • On 24 July, Zolotaya Korona stopped sending transfers from Russia to Georgia and Kazakhstan after the system’s operator came under EU sanctions.
  • At the same time, Tsifra Bank stopped transfers to Kazakhstan.
  • According to media reports in late July, some directions — for example, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan — kept working. Check them in the service’s app before sending: the list changes.

Kazakhstan

Money is most often needed on a local bank card, such as Kaspi. A bank transfer from Russia is not possible from every bank, and the conversion rate is noticeably worse than the market.

Via USDT: the recipient takes the coins into their wallet, sells them for tenge on a licensed platform in Kazakhstan and withdraws to their card.

Uzbekistan

In Uzbekistan crypto is legally bought and sold through licensed platforms. The recipient should use only them: deals with private persons carry the same risk as P2P in Russia.

Georgia

Crypto exchange in Georgia is licensed by the National Bank — such companies are called VASPs. The recipient sells USDT at a licensed exchanger and gets lari in cash or to an account. For a large deposit, a Georgian bank will ask about the source of funds — keep the exchange confirmation.

How to send money via Ruber

If the recipient has a wallet

  1. The recipient sends a USDT address — TRC-20 or TON is most convenient. No wallet yet? It takes 10 minutes with our guide.
  2. You exchange rubles for USDT in the Ruber calculator: by card or via SBP, at the Bank of Russia rate plus 3.5%. The coins go to your wallet.
  3. You send the USDT to the recipient. The network must match; make the first transfer small.
  4. The recipient exchanges USDT for local currency on a licensed platform.

If you need to pay an invoice or send money to a bank account

Message the operator: country, amount, recipient, purpose of payment. The operator checks the route and quotes the fee and timing before you hand anything over.

What it costs

  • exchanging rubles for USDT at Ruber — the Bank of Russia rate plus 3.5%;
  • the network fee for sending USDT — small, paid in the network’s coin;
  • the recipient’s exchange of USDT — at their platform’s rate.

By our calculations as of 6 October 2026, bank transfers and transfer services cost 8–9% over the central bank rate. Compare the result for your amount.

Frequently asked questions

Can the recipient exchange USDT at Ruber?

No. Ruber exchanges rubles for crypto and back with payouts to Russian cards. The recipient exchanges USDT for tenge, sum or lari in their own country.

How long does a transfer take?

Exchanging rubles for USDT takes minutes after the identity check; a USDT transfer on TRC-20 takes a few minutes. The recipient’s exchange depends on their platform.

For the exchange — an identity check. For a large amount — proof of the source of funds. To pay an invoice — the invoice or contract itself.
