Documents

Documents at every stage

What is asked for, when — and who exactly is asking.

The main idea: documents are gathered before the transfer, not after.

Stage by stage

Identity checkA passport, a selfie with a liveness check, a phone number and an email address.
A large amountProof of where the money comes from: an income certificate, a sale contract, an account statement, inheritance or gift documents.
The exchangeThe wallet address and the network.
Payment abroadAn invoice or contract with the recipient details, the payment purpose, information about the payer.
Particular directionsAn auction invoice and lot number for a car. A contract and payment schedule for property. A supplier invoice for goods.
After the dealYou receive the payment confirmation.

What banks ask about

Where the money comes from. Salary, sale of property, inheritance, a business — confirmed by a document, not by words.

The purpose of the payment. It has to match the documents: buying a flat, paying an invoice, tuition.

The link to the recipient. Who they are and why you are paying them.

Frequency and amounts. A series of transfers just under a threshold looks like structuring and triggers an extra check.

A piece of advice. Gather the source-of-funds documents in advance, even if the amount seems below any threshold. Certificates from government bodies take weeks, and that time is better spent before the deal.
